Aaron has a real genuine fondness for the “Raiders of the Lost Ark” movies with Harrison Ford as “Indiana Jones.” He aspires for his own pursuits to acheive the level of heroism demonstrated by the “Indy” character in those films.  I like to jokingly remind Aaron that I am the one from Indiana.  ~Ty Towriss

I met Aaron back in 2012 in Glen Rose, Texas, home to the famous and very controversial Paluxy River bed. According to Aaron, that location represents the “battle ground” between Creationism and Evolutionism.
It’s where he helped to unearth dinosaur tracks in the crustaceous rock layer, where a dino print was discovered that intersected perfectly with a human male footprint. It’s where Aaron cut his teeth digging in the dirt for clues to the truth of man’s existence. It’s also the place where he earned his nickname “The Maverick Archaeologist,” standing staunchly against popular academia, insisting man and dinosaur cohabited, and that planet Earth is indeed much younger than popular scientific opinion.

Aaron invited me to come and connect up with him at legendary Qumran, where the famed Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in 1946. He was invited to participate by famously renowned archaeologist Dr. Randall Price, Co-Director of Operation Scroll in Israel.

Once rendezvousing with Aaron at Qumran, it was time to go exploring him in some of the most fabled ancient places nestled around the mountains of the Jordan Valley.  Aaron has been around the world going in the Footsteps of Lost Truth, from Peru to Mt Ararat where his expedition team was dispatched to extreme altitude and climate on a seek and find mission to verify the existence of the ice-encased remains of none other than Noah’s Ark. A theatrically-released feature film was made about it too, called “Finding NOAH.” Now you have to admit THAT is one extraordinary and amazing resume builder.

Also in 2004, Aaron was part of the team that excavated the Biblical Pool of Siloam mentioned in the New Testament. It is a gigantic football field-sized ancient pool nestled below the City of David at the base of Mt Zion along the Kidron Valley in Jerusalem. The pool was a gargantuan ritual cleansing bath for ancient travelers to cleanse themselves prior to ascending up to the Temple Mount during the 2nd Temple Period and the time of Jesus. And as an aside, that excavation team was lead in part by noted Biblical archaeologist and once head of the City of David excavations Elie Shukron. I’ve not only had the honor of meeting and crawling around with Eli, but I had the tremendous honor of filming Aaron’s “return to the site of the discovery” in a segment that is featured as the very last scene in our travelogumentary film “Qumran 2 Petra,” now playing at Vimeo.com.

Aaron and I forged a bond during the filming of” Qumran 2 Petra.” I’ll say this about Aaron that I’ve learned from my time hanging around with him doing his archaeology work, Aaron’s heart is the real and genuine artifact… a true treasure that viewers will be blessed to discover while viewing our film “Qumran 2 Petra.”
